Shannon MacMillan

Shannon MacMillan is a National Soccer Hall of Famer and former US Women’s National Team player. During her time at the University of Portland, she earned All-American honors four times, the Hermann Trophy for the best female collegiate soccer player in 1995, and the Honda Sports Award as the nation’s top soccer player. While still in college, she joined the USWNT with which she won gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and Silver at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In 2002, Shannon was named U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year. Though she retired from playing, she did not retire from the sport as she began coaching at UCLA in 2007 and is now the Executive Director of the youth soccer team- Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks.
