Warren Sapp

“I love the game of football. It has given me so much. And I want to give back to the game. I want the game to be better. And to make it better, we have to learn what the risks are. I wonder, with all the tackling I did, all those hits that I gave out, will they have an impact on my brain or my memory as I get older? We need answers to those questions.”

Warren was a two-sport athlete through high school playing basketball and football. In football, he played many positions including linebacker, tight end, place-kicker and punter. Doing so earned him school records for sacks, tackles for a loss, and longest field goal. For college, Warren attended the University of Miami where he played defensive lineman and won the Bronko Nagurski trophy, Lombardi Award, and Bill Willis Award. In 1995, he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round where he became a Super Bowl Champion, made seven pro-bowl appearances and earned four first-team All-Pro honors. In 2004, Warren took his talents to the Oakland Raiders and eventually retired in 2007. He was inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
